Nature's Treasures is a home-based business that produces a variety of skin care,
hair care and bath products. These products combine natural oils, essential oils,
botanicals and select cosmetic chemicals and additives to give you premium, hand-crafted
products at a reasonable price.

As the mother of six children, I always included hand-crafted gifts in our family
holiday traditions. My children have come to expect it, and are even disappointed
if they receive only purchased gifts. Several years ago, I found a book of gifts from
the kitchen at the book fair at my youngest daughter’s school. I bought it, thinking
it would be a good source for cookies, candy and other goodies for gift baskets.
This book did have some great recipes of the kind I was expecting, but it also
had an entire section of recipes for lotions, creams, salts and other personal
care gifts made mostly from ingredients found in the kitchen. That year, my
baskets were filled with these skin loving goodies.

There were several recipes that I wanted to try that called for harder-to-find
ingredients, so I turned to the internet to do my shopping. In addition to
finding sources of luscious fixed and essential oils at reasonable prices, I found
a wealth of new recipes and some great reference books on the use of natural products
for personal care items. I started experimenting in earnest, with my large
family acting as guinea pigs.

My adult daughters loved the skin care products that were customized for each of
their individual needs. Soon I was getting phone calls requesting something to
address particular problems or conditions. My Healing Skin Salve was developed when
one of my grandsons had a problem with eczema. I headed to my reference books and
on-line sources to research the best ingredients to soothe skin irritations. The
resulting product has become a family staple. My father had been plagued, for
more than two years, with an itchy, scaly patch of skin on his neck that nothing
seemed to relieve. He reported instant relief from the itching after one
application. Three months of using the salve twice a day and it was completely gone.

Soon my family members were sharing products with their friends and co-workers,
and more special requests started coming in. Then someone said, “You should sell these.”
So, here I am. As a working mom, with a ‘real’ job, on-line was the only way to go.
